Microsoft Corp. is again renewing it's efforts to purchase Yahoo! following the recent Google and DoubleClick deal.
"With the shadow of Google looming over both companies, the New York Post says the software giant wants Yahoo to consider a buyout."

The NYTimes has a boilerplate article about Microsoft, Yahoo! and Google going after the cellphone. This line is interesting, though: Google has gone so far as to build a prototype phone with its own software inside, according to one person who has seen it. More information available here. |

The next-generation AMD quad-core Opteron, codenamed Barcelona and fabricated by 65nm manufacturing technology, is natively designed with 4 functioning cores, each of them owns 512KB L2 Cache and share the same 2MB L3 Cache. Barcelona supports for 128Bit FPU and provides a capability of up to 4 FLOPS/clock. The interface remains in Socket F (1207), and therefore it’s compatible to the existing Socket F platforms.
It's estimated these processors will arrive to consumers in June, 2007. |

A federal jury in San Diego has ordered Microsoft to pay $1.5 billion to Alcatel-Lucent in a patent dispute over MP3 audio technology used in Windows. In its verdict, the jury assessed damages based on each Windows PC sold since May 2003. The case could have broader implications, should Alcatel-Lucent pursue claims against other companies that use the widespread MP3 technology. |
